Meet Dee

Deanna Clarke
CCYC, BHSc, CCAC, RTC

Hello! My name is Deanna, and you may call me Dee. I am passionate about supporting meaningful transformation, offering a grounded, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for self-discovery and healing. My approach is rooted in the belief that true growth happens when we engage with both our strengths and our struggles, creating space for lasting change.

As a Registered Therapeutic Counselor, Certified Addiction Counselor, and Certified Child and Youth Counselor, I have over 14 years of experience in addiction recovery and supporting individuals impacted by childhood trauma. Together, we will explore the emotional, physical, creative, and spiritual dimensions of your life to support your healing and growth.

Growing up in a family system shaped by grief, emotional silence, and instability, I learned early to see myself as a burden rather than someone worthy of care and connection. Family messages that discouraged emotional expression taught me to suppress my needs, leading to deep beliefs that I didn’t matter and was unlovable. Experiences of abandonment, loss, and witnessing the pain of others reinforced the idea that asking for help would only make me “too much.”

To survive, I became highly adaptable and people-pleasing, sacrificing authenticity in exchange for acceptance and safety in relationships. Over time, coping through emotional withdrawal, unhealthy relationships, and numbing behaviors created a cycle of shame, insecurity, and disconnection from myself and others.

My healing journey unlocked the fears that were hidden in my unconscious mind and revealed what I needed to heal. I learned how living from a place of fear and self-protection kept me from fully experiencing love, trust, and connection—especially with the people I cared about most.

I am a heart centered therapist and my passion for supporting youth and adults comes from my own journey of healing through grief, abandonment, shame, and disconnection. Having had experienced what it feels like to silence my needs, lose myself in strategies of sacrifice and roles, and struggle with feelings of unworthiness, I understand how painful it can be to feel unseen, unloved, or stuck in survival mode. Through learning to embrace vulnerability, self-acceptance, and authentic connection, I discovered that healing becomes possible when we feel safe enough to be truly seen and heard.

This journey has inspired me to create compassionate, supportive spaces where others can explore their pain without judgment, reconnect with their voice, and rediscover their worth. I am passionate about helping people move beyond fear, shame, and self-sacrifice so they can build healthier relationships, trust themselves, and experience greater freedom, confidence, and connection in their lives.

By leaning into discomfort instead of avoiding it, you will find growth, healing, and a deeper connection to SELF and others. I am committed to bring compassion, authenticity, and openness into my work and relationships, using my lived experience to create safe spaces for others to heal and rediscover themselves. I can work with you to navigate through emotional pain, rebuild self-worth, develop healthier relationships, practice self-acceptance, and move beyond patterns that keep you stuck so you can reconnect with your authentic self and create a more meaningful life.

Nature, creativity, spirituality and connection to the Devine continue to be anchors in my life. I draw inspiration from life’s simple wonders and bring that same curiosity and presence into my work with clients. I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll work to strengthen your inner foundation so you can experience more authentic and fulfilling relationships in your life.

Strengthening Relationships

I’m passionate about supporting individuals in strengthening their relationships—with themselves and with others. My work is grounded in the belief that true healing happens when we courageously face both our struggles and strengths, creating space for deep growth and lasting change.

I guide clients in exploring the emotional, mental, physical, creative, and spiritual aspects of their lives, helping them build meaningful connections and create the change they’re seeking.

I believe that relationships are the foundation of our well-being—and that includes the relationship we have with ourselves. By exploring early family patterns, healing childhood wounds, and embracing self-awareness, we can begin to rewrite the stories that hold us back and step into relationships with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

What to Expect

I believe that spirituality is a powerful foundation for recovery and mental wellness. It offers a sense of purpose, belonging, and inner strength to help us move through life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your spiritual journey as part of your healing process.

I take a holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, meeting you where you are with compassion and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore the connections between your emotional, mental, physical, social, creative, and spiritual needs to support the changes you want to make in your life.

I don’t see people bringing “problems” into therapy—I see them bringing bridges to healing. What feels stuck or painful is often a doorway to deeper understanding and growth. I’m here to help you build that bridge with care and support.

Whether you’re navigating addiction, anxiety, depression, or simply feeling lost, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you rediscover your strength, heal old wounds, and create lasting change.

My own personal struggles led me to a place of deep desperation—and it was from that place that true healing began. Through working with my own childhood wounds, I’ve been able to transform the story of my life. Today, I live with openness, embracing life as it comes, free from judgment or rigid expectations.

It’s from this grounded, lived experience that I hold space for my clients as they embark on their own healing journeys. I’ve learned that it’s often in the struggle and discomfort where growth happens—and in that growth, we discover the extraordinary within the ordinary.
